The distance from the tealight candle to the bottom of the dish that the melts are in is important. All of the melters we sell have a distance of around 2-4 inches between the tealight and the melts. If the tealight is any closer, the scent from the hearts will burn off too quickly and you'll smell burnt wax. If the distance is much greater then the wax will not melt or get hot enough to release any noticable scent.

There are many melters out there that are really not good to use. The problems being either the tealight is too close to the underside, or there are not sufficient vent holes allowing heat to escape, for safety. If you have any questions about the melter you are using, please call us.

Never put anything larger than a tealight candle in the underside of your melter. Melters get very hot during use, please use caution and do not handle them until it's cooled down.
