Just add 4-5 of our Melting Hearts to the top of the melter, and light a tealight candle underneath. 4-5 Melting Hearts will last around 6 hours, and when you notice that the aroma is fading, just add another heart to the mix. This can be done until the dish gets full, then empty and start again with 4-5 hearts. You can dump the liquid into the trash while its warm or let it completely harden, put the dish in the freezer for 20 minutes and gently push the wax chunk right out. All of the melters we sell have a distance of around 2-4 inches between the tealight and the melts. If the tealight is any closer, the scent from the hearts will burn off too quickly and you'll smell burnt wax. If the distance is much greater then the wax will not melt or get hot enough to release any noticable scent. There are many melters out there that are really not good to use. The problems being either the tealight is too close to the underside, or there are not sufficient vent holes allowing heat to escape, for safety. If you have any questions about the melter you are using, please call us. Never put anything larger than a tealight candle in the underside of your melter. Melters get very hot during use, please use caution and do not handle them until it's cooled down. Safety is our number one priority.
