Take a day for a leisurely drive into the country. Pleasant country roads, virtually no traffic, small-town atmosphere, friendly people, and lots to see and do in the Sauk Valley area. Below are a few suggestions for things to see while you’re out here. Make a day out of it, or book a room and  make a weekend out of it, there are some nice hotels, motels, and B & B’s.

Morrison is located right inbetween the Rock River and the Mississippi river. Either one is only about 15 minutes away.

Visit the Candle-licious factory! Call ahead please.

Rockwood State Park, Morrison, IL.
Beautiful Lake Carlton is situated in the state park. This park is located just 3 miles northwest of the City of Morrison. Activities include camping, fishing, picnicking, horseback riding, and walking the trails. There is a small restaurant and marina on premisis too.

Golf - One of the finest golf course around!
Sunset Woods Golf Course (formerly Morrison Country Club), located at 903 West Morris Street, and Cross Creek Golf Course, located just a few miles west of Morrison on Henry Road. Both courses offer 18-holes of beautiful scenery and challenging fairways.

Frisbee Golf, Kelly Park in Morrison, IL.
This 3.4 acre park includes a professionally designed 9-hole Frisbee golf course, tennis courts, and a picnic area. The park boasts new playground equipment and a walking path. Kelly Park is adjacent to Grove Hill Cemetery just off of East High Street.

Morrison is about an hour and 20 minutes south of Galena, IL.

While in town you have to drive 15 minutes into Fulton for the best pizza in the area. Visit Manny’s II on 11th street in Fulton, “wafer-thin” thin crust pizza.
